Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners
A nurse practitioner is a registered nurse with advanced training, such as a master's or doctorate degree, in a specialized area. Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNPs) at Ocala Oncology Center specialize in the field of oncology.

The advanced knowledge and skills gained in these accredited programs allow ARNPs to function as clinical experts in their fields of choice. Their scope of practice includes comprehensive health assessments; differential diagnosis; ordering, supervising and interpreting diagnostic tests; prescribing pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic treatments in collaboration with a physician partner; and screening to prevent illness and promote wellness.

At Ocala Oncology, ARNPs provide direct health care to help meet the special needs of cancer patients and their various cancer care issues. Through their collaboration with medical oncologists and hematologists, ARNPs have proven to improve outcomes, including patient satisfaction, patient education and cost effectiveness.

Oncology Certified Registered Nurse
Oncology certified registered nurses are specially trained in the administration of chemotherapy and the management of its side effects. Our nurses are responsible for patient assessments and are available for education.

Medical Assistants

Medical Assistants perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of our physicians. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments and assists with maintaining medical records. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by our physicians.
